Intersex horse found on Ontario farm

The CBC and CTV have produced a piece on intersex horses that started as a SPARK story by Vanessa Perkins.  University of Guelph scientists discovered a six year old mare was actually an intersex horse. The horse, Koko, possesses all the characteristics of a mare but was born with internal parts that were making her act like a stallion. The article can be seen here and on University of Guelph’s [homepage]. Congratulations Vanessa, and thanks to the Department of Communications and Public Affairs at the University of Guelph for its input and for promoting the story widely.
