New video on creating plastic with soymeal

Research conducted at the University of Guelph is aiming to develop new and innovative ways to turn soy diesel food products into biodegradable, compostable plastic bags.

This research which is led by Amar Mohanty, Plant Agriculture, hopes to design plastic bags that can be used for as long as necessary and then composted naturally.

SPARK’s own Joey Sabljic and Mohanty discuss the cost effectiveness and green benefits that these new plastic bags will offer to large retail chains. The video is now available on and on SPARK’s YouTube Channel. Check out the video below.
