SPARK makes clean sweep at Canadian Farm Writer’s Federation Awards

This past weekend at the Canadian Farm Writer’s Federation Awards, SPARK research communicators pulled off a triple-feat, a stunning clean sweep of the podium in the “Television News Reporting” category for their videos created through the OMAFRA/U of G partnership.

Natalie Osborne won the gold award for a truly intriguing video on Manish Raizada and his Biosensor Bacteria research.

Carol Moore took home the silver for her thrilling expose about what’s happened to the honeybee, featuring Ernesto Guzman.

Joey Sabljic rounded out the top three with his video about Amar Mohanty’s new, soy-based bioplastics.

“SPARK dominates this category like no other single group in the 13-category competition, a fact that isn’t lost on the 350-member association,” said an elated Owen Roberts, Director of Research Communications and SPARK Editor-in-Chief.

And so loyal readers, we invite you to check out the winning videos for yourselves, read our frequent blog postings or follow us on twitter @SPARKuoG for all the latest developments, stories and scoops.
