I’ve come to the realization that, for most of my life, I haven’t exactly given nanoparticles nearly enough credit. But I’ve now seen the light! My perspective has been irreversibly changed after reading today’s Mind and Bodies installment.
Elite research communicator Natalie Osborne spoke with U of G physics professor John Dutcher about how he and his colleagues accidentally discovered a completely new substance, which they have since patented as Phytospherix nanoparticles. Dutcher says that these nanoparticles – about one-thousandth the diameter of a human hair – are non-toxic, environmentally friendly and may hold the key to things such as better drug delivery and medical diagnostic work in humans.
